Modafinil doesn't really improve focus. It gives a consistent feeling of wakefulness. Basically, the chemical your brain produces that wakes you up when you have to pee gets some extra production. I haven't used any for like 20 years, but it's neat for what it is. Keeps you awake without any jitters or buzz etc.

Ya the diuretic to wake you I was on it when I was in D.C. a lot...(Prescribed) It doesn't have a negative health effect until 30+ hours of no sleep or something like that. It will keep you up no matter what. After being prescribed it I read about it being basically the drug "limitless" is about.

I feel like adderall etc is more like the limitless drug ๐ These days I get what I need from caffeine, properly scheduled. Sleep is good, and I've found you still accumulate sleep debt with modafinil. I've also found that amphetamines like adderall etc are great in the moment, but suck long term.
