1:05 for distance is a dream for me, not sure that will ever happen. If you were there before, I bet you can get back. All of my swims are from a wall push, open turns and no dolphin kick. I can’t flip turn as I get too dizzy. Had one too many concussions from my time as a fighter and from some landings in a snowboard halfpipe

I swam competitively fr 8-10 years old, but it was the same season as wrestling and I chose wrestling. Didn’t pick it up again until adulthood. Interesting that you snowboard and swim. I’ve found that snowboarders and wrestlers are the easiest to teach. I think it has something to do with proprioception and the awareness/ body control to make micro adjustments.

impressive for only going deep in adulthood, but stroke technique is everything, so sometimes late starters have advantage as they don’t have bad habits to break, can get efficient quickly.

it’s all movement around the center, tai chi stance (fighting) is very similar to snowboard stance, and they are all about staying on your feet, competitively in crazy situations and incoming forces. so yeah where your center is in space.
