Should likes on Warpcast also be micro-transactions/tips? I realize we have warps - but they seem duplicative. If every like sent $0.10 in USDC on Base to the poster (and you could tap it as many times as you want) I think we'd see a lot more value going to creators.

I don't think so. You should be able to show appreciation in a non-financial way. Likes are often a more positive feedback loop for good casts than warps. Micro-transactions add mental friction and will make things feel much different & less alive. I'd rather see improved warp/$degen experiences

I agree. We should refrain from turning everything into a monetary transaction.

In /nostr you can like or zap (tip with BTC) a post, & apps allow you to see “only zaps” or only likes. This is useful to see economic impact & social impact. I don’t understand the economics of warps, they just seem like paid super likes. Robux can be exchanged for USD in Roblox, enabling monetization

If someone else is deciding what and how I monetize my content it feels like it’s a governed platform that can censor features. /nostr /farcaster Thoughts on decentralization of publication and content moderation/curation by YakiHonne: https://warpcast.com/debasedghost/0x00b103d9

I don’t think it’s wise to say that a decentralized platform should not be subjected to any control. I’m not a believer in absolute freedom of speech. E.g. if speech stimulates genocide, it will effectively cause tremendous suffering and the end of freedom of speech.

The platform is subject to the controls and constraints of the protocol. users and curators of any given platform can augment their experience as desired. Interesting. But now a bad scenario: among all the interesting news discussions someone posts revenge porn. It won’t help the victim that the post gets annotations.
