Should likes on Warpcast also be micro-transactions/tips?

I realize we have warps - but they seem duplicative. If every like sent $0.10 in USDC on Base to the poster (and you could tap it as many times as you want) I think we'd see a lot more value going to creators.

We might need to do an L3 if this scales up tho

I don't know about warpcast, but I think an awesome starting point would be someone building a degen specific client that has $DEGEN deeply integrated (e.g. one click tip)

this could pair really nicely with a DEGEN L3 on @base where every tip could be a real onchain transaction. perfect use case for L3.

I don't think so.

You should be able to show appreciation in a non-financial way. 

Likes are often a more positive feedback loop for good casts than warps. 

Micro-transactions add mental friction and will make things feel much different & less alive.

I'd rather see improved warp/$degen experiences

I think it’s healthy for social apps to have a mix of non financial and financial interactions!

Extremely bullish on micro-taps being a major way to create monetary value for creators at scale.

Potential to monetize every encounter while nickel and diming people w smaller accounts is a sure way to kill a vibe. 

If we really care about a creator economy, platforms should be working towards something community owned

totally get where you're coming from - but not everyone might be able to 'pay to like'. Maybe keeping likes and tips separate is the way to go, so everyone can support in their own way. Cool idea, though!

I think that would make the like button too heavy to push. One of the biggest unlocks on Farcaster is that liking and tipping is free (albeit with $DEGEN vs. Warps). Maybe protocol rewards for engaging content could be fun and sticky though…

No, no! We should not financialize everything

As long as gas is factored in. Gas kills small transactions. I had to delegate my votes on @partydao because I held such a small % and it was going to cost too much to vote all the time.

I think keeping likes and tips separate is a good thing but I love the thinking behind this.  Sort of have it with $degen but I still don’t know what that is worth in $ other than good vibes all around.  😊

I remember dapps that would do micro-tx as likes, a reddit-like app in particular. Novel idea but ultimately gas prices are still too high even on L2 to justify it. Maybe app chains and L3s will be the savior here. 

Also on FC we have $DEGEN tips as an established alternative "superlike" so it's going somewhere :)
