We're a democracy, and yet many of the founders' greatest constitutional innovations *restrain* popular will. (Can you name some?) That's why the criticism "that's antidemocratic!"--without more--isn't a very compelling argument. Happy Constitution Day y'all.

*First past the post We finally got Ranked Choice Voting on the ballot for the state level in Oregon. If it passes, even the presidential election etc will use it. It's a huge win, though I still prefer approval voting, even though most of the time the results are the same. https://youtu.be/qf7ws2DF-zk?feature=shared
