Twitter is visibly losing the war with spammers and scammers. Replies are a disaster. Real post with 3k likes immediately gets ratiod by scam impersonators with 20k. Gold-check "verified organization" for the scammer. Great opportunity for a certain purple protocol!

I find it hard to want to use Twitter anymore. The amount of effort it takes to separate the wheat from the chaff is exhausting. If an account has any amount of following, their comments section turns into a Times Square fever dream of scam ads. Hoping everyone on FC continues to strive for quality discourse!

Opportunity? Yes. But we have to make FC more normie friendly. I'm afraid normies will lose interest quickly when they see most of the convos are crypto-centric. Proposing a normie-friendly FC-client that initially filters out any token/crypto casts, but gradually habituates the user to the broader FC community

I wouldn't say that. If certain users have to pay for an app it's obvious that there will be less spam. But you have to understand that the bulk of any social media user is always the free user and free users are what makes social media thrive. Imagine if Facebook charged $20 back in the day.
