the zkemail mechanism should work for pretty much the entire star wars cantina of regional payments apps; venmo, mpesa, revolut etc

It looks very exciting - although I am worried about Venmo marking these transactions as suspicious and pre-emptively close user accounts

i'm not involved with zkp2p, just think it's an impressive demo--but my counterpoint would be, it's unlikely venmo would do that unless it becomes quite big.

@asoong one important mitigation: make sure that the market marker can manually release the USDC payment in case of proof failure

Isn't this highly dependent on the email template? can't venmo shut this down super quick by changing the email they send ?

this feels like it deserves waaaay more attention than it's getting

They mention KYC being already done by Venmo (guessing that can apply to
PayPal/Cashapp) but now I’m curious why funded products can’t just have a small onboarding warchest and get people onboard ASAP
