Everything Is Editorial. ~Nowhere online is remotely neutral nowadays. {NYT, WashPo, etc}? obvious & consistent bias Reddit? lol Twitter? appears to have a 10x boost these days for topics Elon personally likes, from natalism to Cybertruk promo videos Wikipedia? heavily censored Google Search? judge for yourself:

there was a brief period of somewhat credibly neutral online spaces. early Wikipedia, Google, Reddit, etc. that is over. everywhere is either explicitly editorial (NYT) or has an active moderation structure pushing and suppressing specific political opinions (and, in some cases, politically-salient facts).

It's never been neutral. Nothing's ever been. It's always gonna not be neutral depending on who you ask. Neutrality is something to strive for, but can never truly be achieved. The fallacy is that we put in the same bag bad faith ppl being clearly opinionated but pretending to be objectives, and entities genuinely trying to reach for that neutrality.

Sadly the reason is because the left became radical, they are now the party of madness they are poisoning the world and there is not middle either you are part or you are against, years ago there was somewhere a middle but now is just full madness, everyone has to choose a side, not like decades ago when everyone has almost the same thinking, America was a conservative country, still is a half conservative country but half of the population now are in a satanic pagan cult to moloch and ishtar...

NPR has also radically changed. The only solution is to cast a wide net and get from a dozen or more sources

given that this is obviously not ideal, would the solution be to launch provably unbiased versions of the same services?

It’s funny how we all think the media is biased but in opposite ways. “has the nyt ever said anything negative about <my political bags>? bias!!!11”

Yeah it’s just incredible. At least on “X” you’re allowed to say and show anything you want, and as long as the rules are followed the post is shown. Freedom of speech, religion and thought is the most critical agenda. Good post. Thank you.
