there was a brief period of somewhat credibly neutral online spaces. early Wikipedia, Google, Reddit, etc. that is over. everywhere is either explicitly editorial (NYT) or has an active moderation structure pushing and suppressing specific political opinions (and, in some cases, politically-salient facts).

Byproduct of corporate interest rather than cypherpunk culture owning the both the infra and assets. Every digital space is now owned by a handful of companies that decide what is posted and if they exist at all.
