Twitter is visibly losing the war with spammers and scammers.
Replies are a disaster. Real post with 3k likes immediately gets ratiod by scam impersonators with 20k. Gold-check "verified organization" for the scammer.

Great opportunity for a certain purple protocol!

This is fate of every social tbh. I have no trust that FC will be any different once it hits the same level of DAUs, especially with the financial incentives available.

FC has structural advantages.

- Open protocol > more people can ship
- Much less technical debt > can ship faster
- "Pay 100 warps to post in this channel", nonrefundable when kicked for spam
- Crypto-native initial audience > can experiment with other forms of onchain reputation, slashing, etc

pay to post is awful ux for social media

for farcaster to keep growing, feed should not be full of spam from financial games (degen / perl / ham / nfts). arguing that “pay to post fixes this” is nuts
