almost feel like Apple should release a new Vision Pro model each year but freeze the current capability spec for 3 years feels like there is a ton of headroom here just keep making them smaller, lighter, cheaper every year sort of like what Steam did with the Steam Deck OLED in year 2

DC you have to expand your mind - Apple does release a new Vision Pro each year (the silicon, the important part). iPhone chips prototype for future M* desktop chips which drive requirements for Vision Pro chips. R* chips will only update as cameras or sensors change - then follow the above pattern for lenses/sensors

this is what they did with iPhone, so it wouldn't really surprise me tbh. I bet they'll cut manufacturing costs a ton over the next year, so it makes sense to take the profit margin each year while they have the advantage
