oh this looks nice! I used to use an iris guy but I switched to a uhk many years ago. I’ve been thinking about trying a moonlander or ergodox for the aesthetics but maybe this is my call to go back to a 48 + thumb row layout

i've been looking at this and the Lily58's both are real tempting, but this is the cheapest i've found anything fully assembled, wireless, and split ergo.

first of all, easy there, its the 42 key life for me secondly, uh... idk I wanna switch off Chocs to MX switches, and it's tempting to get that number row back at the same time but then I might as well go back to my Moonlander except that I still want wireless

number row is key imo! what’s your main reason for wanting a wireless kb, portability? I work from an office 95+% of the time so for me it doesn’t really matter

i just hate wires, not much else I also work from the couch sometimes, but not that often maybe just general convenience, tbh. i'm a fidgety, physically anxious person that likes to twist myself into positions and perch in odd places, and knowing my keyboard can follow my hands is just nice.

lol that was an unexpected turn. it looks much nicer without cables, but I hate messing with Bluetooth devices that don’t connect properly more than the look of cables

ooh, yes, no kidding I've been really lucky with my Corne-ish Zen— BT has been rock solid, even switching between multiple computers

My experience with my previous build with nice!nanos was that they were much more finicky connection wise. Maybe I just messed up the build somehow since I haven’t seen people complain about that online, but I was having to re-flash them every couple of weeks Something to consider if you’re buying a different one!

now that you mention it, i definitely had to modify the firmware on my Zens to boost the BT power. they weren't even staying connected to each other very well, otherwise. wonder what microcontroller is in them. i've only seen the nice!Nanos in other wireless builds so far.

that's what scares me about going wireless, if it isn't 100% reliable it isn't worth it imo! speaking of reliable I have an apple magic keyboard that I bought in 2016 that I use when I travel, connects in like 2s every single time
