Guy who ported DOOM to TypeScript types interviews TypeScript creator Anders Hejlsburg about porting the TypeScript compiler from TypeScript to Go. Great watch. (TL;DR: they chose Go over Rust et al. for its simple syntax, similar functional programming style and built-in concurrency features.)

Go is such a nice programming language tbh. Swift is also really solid but generally confined to Apple’s ecosystem.

Yeah Swift seemed super hype when it first came out and way more streamlined than Objective-C. But web standards stuck for me because browser engines are absolutely everywhere.
