Guy who ported DOOM to TypeScript types interviews TypeScript creator Anders Hejlsburg about porting the TypeScript compiler from TypeScript to Go. Great watch. (TL;DR: they chose Go over Rust et al. for its simple syntax, similar functional programming style and built-in concurrency features.)

Freaking love Go. Pinata rewrote its API in Go, and with the right patterns and setup, you can just blaze through features and be safe at the same time. Great pick by TS imo

Go is such a nice programming language tbh. Swift is also really solid but generally confined to Apple’s ecosystem.

That’s the real reason why they rewrote the compiler – they want more FPS in doom!

go makes concurrency actually fun to work with, cross platform by default is also a nice bonus
