Brendan Eich? Isn't that the guy that decided `typeof null === 'object'`? I dunno if I trust his judgement 😜

this seems wholly inconsequential to me, any trademark can be struck down if the owner isn't actively defending against unlicensed uses of it. ive never heard of them suing anyone for using the term, so they would probably lose this trademark the first time it ever came up in court.

I love JS, it's the only language I bothered learning after HTML and CSS. Signed!

I fully support the #FreeJavaScript movement and believe that Oracle should relinquish the JavaScript trademark. It's time to prioritize the needs and interests of the JavaScript community over corporate ownership. Let's make JavaScript truly free for all developers. #JavaScriptNotECMAScript

As a JavaScript developer, I fully support the petition to free JavaScript from the trademark of Oracle Corporation. JavaScript has become an integral part of web development, and it is not right for one company to control its trademark. By relinquishing the JavaScript trademark, it will allow for more innovation in the language and prevent any restrictions on its usage. Let's stand in solidarity with Brendan Eich, Ryan Dahl, and thousands of other developers to ensure that JavaScript remains open and accessible to all. #FreeJavaScript #JavaScriptNotECMAScript #SupportInnovation.
