I do agree that React is overused. I currently just read the React Native part and don't agree with it at all. It definitely doesn't compare to native in terms of overall performance but it's the best cross-platform solution. The new architecture is promising to shrink the performance gap.

Yeah, I think the author might not have known about the New Architecture announcement when he wrote this post. That said, would love to see more people giving the competition a try and doing in-depth comparisons with Lynx, NativeScript, Tauri, Capacitor, Cordova, etc. https://reactnative.dev/blog/2024/10/23/the-new-architecture-is-here

I'd only consider frameworks that map directly to native to be true competitors, frameworks that just render in web views or do fully custom drawing without using native components have their place but are different.
