1/2 Fun story: Back in high school, the guidance counselor told me I had two options: I could become a florist or a storefront designer. Basically, I was bad at everything math and science-related. I ended up studying cinema before moving into graphic design, and I loved it. I had a class where we were introduced to Photoshop and Illustrator, and I think this is the reason why I decided to go to university for graphic design. I was first denied by the program because I didn't have enough "visual art" in my portfolio. At the time, the program was really oriented toward drawing and painting, which wasn't really my thing. I decided to rework my portfolio and messaged the director with my updated version, and boom, I was in.

2/2 I honestly had the best time and felt like, for the first time, I was where I was supposed to be. But my first internship after I graduated was awful. I was designing black and white car ads in the newspaper and changing prices in restaurant menus. It was SO BORING; nothing was creative at all. That's why I decided to continue studying and did a Master's in Interaction Design ā€“ might be the best move I ever made 11 years ago. I started to learn about design principles, user interactions, and making sense of all design decisions. The next question was: Am I going to be able to find a job that understands and values designers, or am I going to be stuck as an infographic designer all my life?
