Please yes. It never made any sense. Plus to export in certain formats (like one of the most used for web, gif) you have to go through media encoder, aggravating the experience even more.

Always used ME for gifs, easier for me than installing plugins on AE. What do you use for web export?

Eh gif is a really old, shitty format imo. Wait til OP uses bodymovin in after effects and how shitty that UI is on top of that

I spent an hour today trying to export my comp through media encoder but it never loaded, even when I manually added it through file browser instead of direct from AE
