The YouTube news channel of a major Australian broadcaster, the Seven Network, was hijacked by crypto scammers — showing videos of a deep fake Elon Musk talking about crypto. 7News’ YouTube channel was rebranded to appear as automaker Tesla, showing an artificial intelligence-generated fake of the firm’s CEO saying he’s giving away crypto. The AI-faked Musk tout a common “double-your-money” scam, promising to send back double the amount of any crypto sent to an address.

The ad was created by the firm’s in-house studio and creative agency Native Foreign. In a statement accompanying the ad, the toy retailer touted its AI-generated film as “leaping ahead of the curve” as the first major ad created purely by OpenAI’s text-to-video tool. “Charles Lazarus was a visionary ahead of his time and we wanted to honor his legacy with a spot using the most cutting-edge technology available,” Toys “R” Us chief marketing officer Kim Miller Olko said in a statement.

Following an investigation, authorities have determined that Chen — who reportedly received 320,000 USDT +0.052% to act as JPEX’s brand ambassador last year — is suspected of engaging in fraudulent activities related to JPEX in Taiwan, local newspaper United Daily News reported on Wednesday. The prosecutors have yet to press charges against Chen.

Solana-based DEX Zeta Markets debuts native token ZEX, starts airdrop distribution Solana-based DEX Zeta Markets, which specializes in derivatives trading, has launched its native token and opened airdrop claims comprising 100 million ZEX. The airdrop is designed to both reward early users and encourage long-term participation in the protocol, according to a statement. Zeta Markets founder Tristan Frizza told The Block in April that the token’s ticker would be “Z,” but that has subsequently changed to ZEX. The airdrop comprises 10% of the total 1 billion ZEX supply, 8% of which is reserved for Zeta traders in Phase 1. Early stakers qualify for the remaining 2% under Phase 2 of the airdrop, which will be distributed 28 days after today’s token generation event in proportion to the amount of tokens locked and the chosen staking duration. Eligible users have 90 days to claim their airdrop allocations, the team said.
