Good take. I've had a long, deep seated, and possibly irrational distrust of Substack for years. Not only do I hate subscriptions, but they're backtracking on their portability promises to compete with X. It's the standard game for startups. Open the floodgates until you've developed a monopoly, then turn the screws.
