So interestingly, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is not the kind of game that nails first impressions— That’s fine. Believe it or not, my first impression of Baldur’s Gate 3 wasn’t great, but it quickly became one of my all time favorite games. DD2 is rough but it has some really great, enjoyable game qualities.

Performance is a big issue but things the game does extremely well: -Combat is frantic and fun, especially against strong monsters -World design is gorgeous, much more lively than the first game -Exploration is stupid fun, with tons of chests hidden everywhere -Skills and spells look gorgeous -that 4K STEAK COOKING

Had a friend send me some stuff on DD2 a few weeks ago. I don't know why, but everything I watched just instantly turned me off. Agree with your first impression comment...it just doesn't look like a game that is getting released in 2024 by a major studio.

I’m having so much fun playing DD2 so far. It’s the first time in a long time where I don’t feel the need to rush through the game to complete it… so relaxing to just chill and enjoy the atmosphere.
