The LifeFitness machines do sync elevation to Apple Watch or their pairing app. The manual workouts on Apple Watch won't have elevation numbers, but hikes will! Looks like Strava seems to drop these elevation numbers upon sync though https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/216919447-Elevation
