Moxiesplaining Journal Day 10: Easing the Way for Writers A few ways Moxie Everyday Rewards help make life easier for heavily time-constrained and/or cash-strapped writers on Farcaster: - Rewards aren’t directly tied to any particular subject matter specifics. This helps create more latitude for intrinsically motivated (but still paid) writing. - Distribution happens in the background; claiming is straightforward. No need to chase your earnings. The reduction in mental load and effort (compared to tipping tokens) helps free up that much more time and cognitive energy for writing. - Lowers the barriers for niche writers with modest followings to start earning, which can help them bootstrap small businesses. Less time spent pursuing uncertain funding sources (e.g., grants, prize pools, etc.) translates into more time for writing. How does Moxie make *your* life easier? (Moxiesplaining Journal is a daily window into my observations, learnings, and the view of Moxie from where I sit as a writer + editor).

I'm honestly kind of trying to figure this out on my end. I can admit that I'm a very niche writer and my content isn't what the majority here are into. Kind of trying to find my way and keep faith that people will show up in time, but that can be really hard when you don't see the same kind of engagement as others do. I know I have to fight through the feelings of rejection and push. Getting there is just proving difficult.

I hear you and I agree that it can be difficult for newcomers, especially for those with niche writings. I've been on Paragraph daily since Jan 2023, and if I hadn't spent all that time building long-term mutual connections here beforehand, I think my Moxie earnings would be lower. Even with the relationship-building background in my favor though, at this point in time the Moxie earnings aren't anywhere near enough to build a solid livelihood on my writing alone. But they're a step in the right direction, at least. Anyway, I strongly suspect a large part of the difficulty you're facing is due to the fact that we're early adopters and there's just not a big enough audience coming to Farcaster for niche content yet. My /blxstonesnctuary channel gets next to no engagement even after months of casting, for example. It's a tiny niche (monasticism) within an already tiny niche (modern polytheism/animism).
