How does one measure? It’s done this to me for at least a year tbh. I’m a pretty heavy notetaker. Here’s a public graph that throws this often enough to be annoying:

Yikes, how big is your roam graph? How much longer do I got? 😅

Happened to me and then Roam support deleted my entire graph. 

The “lock in” is just as bad with them as Microsoft or Evernote. Total crap. 

Obsidian is files first, and they are yours. Never look back my friend.

Obsidian has one built in iirc. But one issue is that it didn't process having links in titles, which threw off some links.
