According to Odaily, Ryan Sean Adams, co-founder of Bankless, recently expressed on X that Vitalik Buterin deserves the Nobel Prize in Economics for his contributions to cryptocurrency and Ethereum. Adams highlighted that Buterin's lack of recognition underscores a disconnect between academic economists and applied theory. He emphasized that future generations will judge this oversight harshly, noting that cryptocurrency represents one of the greatest economic innovations of our time, yet is overlooked by 98% of economists.

To appreciate Vitalik Buterin's contributions, an understanding of cryptocurrency is necessary.  I think a lot of academic economists don't want to do this and think it's a no-brainer.

I think it is worthy, few academic economists understand cryptocurrency, so they cannot fully appreciate his contribution to this area.
