I think Wikipedia is dead in less than 5 years. Replaced by LLMs.

LLMs need their information from somewhere

They can theoretically search and crawl just like Google. 

Wouldn’t need aggregate info like Wikipedia, but current techniques are too laborious and slow. 

That’s what I meant by needing improvements to RAG and HyDE (two techniques for using collected information for LLM responses)

This. Even if Wikipedia is "dead" as a company, their content will forever be entrenched in LLMs

Conversely, Britannica has done a better job capturing revenue for the same use case
