Huge challenge for me The shift toward remote work has made it easier to be physically present, but it's still tough to pull away from a laptop I've found that taking even a 30-minute break during the workday to goof around is super rewarding Also, 1on1 novel micro-trips have a lot of bonding potential

Make sure your colleagues know you’re a dad and that being a dad comes first. This will also help other dads feel better about prioritizing their kids.

As much communication as possible I'd like to completely close off nights & weekends, but sometimes that's just not gonna happen Especially since most of my clients are in different time zones But add regular checks + communication and you're good

I haven't been able to manage it in a way that makes me feel that I have established a healthy boundary. That being said, I have as a priority spending 3 hours in the afternoon with my daughter. Playing. Its hard for me to play. I somehow forgot how to do it. But I keep remembering by interacting with her playfully.

You know, as much as we may feel like we're not present enough (bet we all do on some level), I often think about the people who worked ridiculously long days at ridiculosly hard jobs, came home when kids were asleep and barely had time to eat dinner We have it so easy, guys

Family time (nights and weekends) is sacred, no compromises. If I need to push something over the line, I can sacrifice my own time (sleep), but taking that time away from my kids is untenable.
