reading Chip War now its striking how chips have been at the center of geopolitics since the beginning US v Russia US v Japan US v China US has faded in and out of manufacturing dominance in different eras but theres always been a strong industry push for govt support

Good book. I was surprised to learn almost all of the semiconductor powerhouses were gov subsidized. Made me rethink the importance of industrial policy (done well).
