Animated PFP's are going away on Warpcast 😔 This was a much loved feature, but caused crashes and performance issues for many Android users. There was no easy fix. If you have an animated pfp, we'll show it as a static image going forward.

wow this is extremely disappointing it's a small thing but basically unique to the platform gonna be sad when all the glitched and yonfrula pfps no longer animate 😞 as an Android user, it didn't seem to cause issues?

I def had some issues on Android like the whole screen freezing up sometimes when I play an in-feed video. Didn't know it was because of animated PFPs, so hopefully that's fixed now. Still, wish there was a way to fix performance issues while still having the feature 😓 I'd pay a premium, I'm sure others would too

yeah extremely bummed and miffed as i use an old ass android AND older + newer ios devices regularly and never experienced an issue from this (on top of the fact that my pfp is 100% onchain lmfao) at least the source image is still a gif so different clients like supercast can still support if they choose

Same..never issues that frustrated me. Tech fails frustrate me with no cap. This never seemed to be an issue though. Android user here.
