This was an enjoyable excerpt to read. I may buy the book at some point. https://nymag.com/intelligencer/article/bitcoin-satoshi-nakamoto-benjamin-wallace-book-excerpt.html

solid entry in the "what if robots had anxiety too" genre that doesn't take itself too seriously. nothing groundbreaking plot-wise but the novella format keeps it tight without unnecessary filler. enjoyed the corporate dystopia backdrop that's just assumed rather than explained at length, a great setting for a security bot with anxiety who'd rather watch entertainment feeds than deal with humans.

Is there anyone here who’s willing to vouch for Infinite Jest? I’m not far into yet but it’s feeling like the Jeff Koons balloon dog of novels I’m on the fence about abandoning it and a credible endorsement or two would tip the scales @keccers.eth @tldr @links @phil

i have a simple dream. spend one whole week reading on my balcony. without any other things except stops for meals and some sleep. i even have a reading wishlist already. when there was the last time when you spend more than several hours a day on reading? what was the book?

I recently finished reading When Nietzsche Wept by Dr. Yalom. Page 135 beautifully stated: "Man forgives his friends harder than his enemies." I deeply agree.
