My current mental model for Frames is that they are fleeting. For mints, drops, submit actions for a game, a quick read, and then keep scrolling...not sustained attention in-frame. Maybe this changes as interactions get more rich. ๐Ÿค” Alt clients could even embed iframes. Agree or disagree?

I think a more useful way to think about it is that right now they are proximal. As in "close to an action, instant, or moment" They're best used near something important as the next step (mint this thing, go somewhere else, participate in this thing happening temporarily) App UX changes will extend frame permanence

Youโ€™re in the same group with the people who said the internet was fleeting because it hadnโ€™t scaled yet. If you study web2 user growth you will see the connection between allowing people to convert within your app or website vs leaving. The tech will be here soon to do full tx sequences in frame. Very soon.

Agree. I think frames has the potential to be equivalent of facebook apps SDK or OpenSocial. It def needs a lot of upgrades. Simple stuff like 1. frames to send notifications via standard methods - push, client UI to offline user, loop in action 2. Have a profile section showing recent interacted frames & other opts

I agree, but I'm not entirely sure if that's an issue. I think of frames as a more advanced iteration of Open Graph preview images. @samuellhuber.eth is currently working on a frames project and might have an interesting perspective on this

Nah evergreen model is emergent but we have seen phase 1 with channels pins. We have also only started to see evergreen utility from platform wide frame support eg. @paragraph - every link share is now much more powerful If the link the frame is hosted on is a blank page - its fleeting, if its not then its got legs

100% correct. The frames channel and other places they might appear help but they just move downstream like any other shit post. Some ux is needed to keep them where they are most relevant

As fleeting as a post. Perfect for those use cases you mentioned. For a frame to have multi-use there needs to be a way to save and access them easily.

It will take a little time to mature as a format. Any change to the function will hurry that. @seangeng Base Quest frame game would be my main counterpoint so far for something that kept me in the frame for a while.

agree, my framing: smol ephemeral apps on big open platform big apps may use frames as teasers to onboard onto a client for big open platform
