Good question. China isn't at the public forefront of large language model development, yet tons of research is being done at Tencent and Alibaba with state-of-the-art publications. DeepSeek is probably equivalent to GPT-3.5. I wonder how far ahead they are in terms of supply-chain management and process automation.

Got Arch installed and working on an old laptop.

Definitely a challenge: the official instructions left me completely lost re how to install grub. But GPT handholding helped, and I'm impressed and found the experience surprisingly educational!
