Life actually gets significantly harder the further you get into your career. I would imagine at some point it levels out and is basically smooth sailing/autopilot but in my personal experience feels like the deeper you get in the weeds the harder the game gets (and therefore the larger the reward).

Reckon it is somewhat dependent on your chosen field and scale of operation, slope of skill and knowledge development. Career wise every year has been easier for me cause of the combination of stacking skill and knowledge alongside the muscle memory of the physical tasks on the farm, mind you Iā€™m now 20+ years into the field. When Iā€™ve been involved with small scale non profit mgmt, also felt like it all became easier as your skill set grew stronger, depth of relationships solidified etc. If stepping back to include the full balance of life, then yes demands can shift, quite a bit during parenthood especially. Good luck finding your smooth stride.

ā€™the larger the rewardā€™ i feel this is what gets most of us goingā€¦. Itā€™s like a game where the levels keep increasing in difficulty, but so do the achievementsā€¦ do you think thereā€™s a point where the balance shifts from the grind to more of a mastery phase, or is it just a continuous evolution?

So thereā€™s no point where even if it actively stop working Your previous work would carry on for you? Or is that the leveling out phase?

I feel that. Itā€™s like the more experience you gain, the more complex the challenges become bigger stakes, bigger expectations. Itā€™s almost like leveling up in a game, where the difficulty ramps up but so do the rewards.
