Weirdest part of building for real users in crypto is this feeling that building something that *could* be massive in 10 years is valued more than something that *is* valuable today for a far smaller number of people. As an industry I think we've gotten way too caught up in building for the future instead of optimizing for what needs to be done to make crypto exciting and digestible today.

exactly, that's why I am building a simple weekend blockchain for beginner course Most off-chainers still don't understand the *why* What I need from fc is a desktop website that explains in 10 seconds what it is and why it exists. At least on mobile it now says "a decentralized social network"

I don’t know man…I feel like this space is still penalizing thinking with long time horizons and is only looking at the first down marker

well said. this has been so on top of my mind as well - building for use cases today basis an infra that may have infinite more use cases in the future. Guess the gap here is because of where higher valuations & investments flow from VCs etc - difficult to build case for solving stuff today (beyond UX)

That's a fair point This industry drives off speculation If it's simple problem-solving it's not exciting for most

There’s been high focus on scalability and adoption that user experience has been neglected. It's time to refocus on building for today's users

Makes me wonder what exactly makes them sure whatever it is will work “in the future “ People forget that the “now” has to be good, for the future to be better Is this a principle you apply with managing @cooprecs tho?
