ITAP Peruvian Groundcherry! Look what I found in our garden! It's a species of plant in the nightshade family native to Chile and Peru.

If it's yellow, if I'm not mistaken, it will taste sweet, right?

It's a husk tomato. In Japan, they are grown until they ripen to a brighter red. Not edible, but ornamental. In Japanese, it is called "鬼灯(hohzuki)". "鬼灯" are now the lights of demons. In addition to appreciation, the fruit is removed without breaking the skin and the skin is played as a flute.
