1. Agree itā€™s hard for new users! But itā€™s always been hard for new users. Weā€™re going to be adding ā€œonboard directly to a channelā€ when joining Farcaster as the next big project for channels. 2. Channels as hashtags / topics did not work. We iterated for a year trying to make it work. 3. So weā€™re trying a new direction that is more like public group chats with a feed UX. 4. A reminder that casting in your home feed like Twitter is available to everyone.

1. Judgement ā€œis this working?ā€ ā€” this is a lot of building consumer products. 2. Channels without moderation required aggressive filtering which is frustrating for newer users. Moderation worked for some, but required a huge investment of time. 3. Few people visited channel pages (proxy for both community and quality).

3. Is interesting. Itā€™s true I didnā€™t scroll Much through channels but enjoyed posting in them and seeing the channel posts pop up on my timeline. Good to know management take

I tried to go through channels occasionally but they were full of spam and no interesting info was findable. Itā€˜s a pity almost no (bigger) channel did solid moderation like a random telegram chat (5 community mods) or crypto project on discord (2 paid mods). So, not sure how much we can derive from the existing data
