Idea for a radically different Farcaster app. Kill the feed and replace it with a 3D, maneuverable map of FiD accounts connected by bridges that represent threads. More active threads are thicker. Pinch, expand and swipe to navigate, until available on Apple Vision Pro - then immersive. Something like this

How do you represent a single cast no one has replied to? How do you discover new casts?

Probably have a little side cloud of new strands with some visual cue indicating they’re new. Then when you zoom in far enough the strands form into text previews of the casts. Would be able to fit more in the viewport than standard feed. But probably a few ways to solve, would be a fun brainstorm.

The idea I visually compelling but I suspect not so usable in the long run. The link between two Fid will grow over time and discerning threads in that links will become hard, especially if the reply each other in long threads.

I know, a feed feels safe! You’re considering whether the new format would account for what you normally expect from a social media site, but consider you may not need those things. Also, you would tap into primary casts for a more complete view - it wouldn’t all be represented on the map.

conversations between two fids will always create a lot of links. It the nature of interactions. What I’m suggesting is nodes should not be fids but something else. Maybe a node could be the first cast of a thread, but then how do you connect them? Open to ideas.
