Running a meeting today? Try this quick warm-up: Weekly Retro: 1) what were the wins this week? 2) what were the losses? 3) what was a key learning? 4) what’s a key goal for next week?

I would like to say that a weekly retro is not quick and not intended to be a warmup. Those sessions take at least an hour depending on team size and you really want to take your time with a facilitator who knows what they are doing. I ran those sessions for years with many different teams.

Good point 👏🏻 If this is a discussion… more time is helpful. If it’s an individual writing prompt, it can be shorter.

Have you ever successfully facilitated this writing exercise in a team or other context? If so, what was your experience with it? How did this go and what were the effects?
