I'm gonna give love to the Japanese fam who desperately struggle to obtain the power badge. Btw the latest long form content update was huge for them. Increasing the character limit allows for much more communication in both languages in the same cast, tysm 🤍 @saxophone55.eth @tomos @eiteengo All 3 of these members engage meaningfully and consistently. I'd love to see them shine brighter in this space. I know @pichi would also 🔥🫡

I think many users skip posts in languages they don’t read and to the algo that makes it look “boring” or uninteresting since no one interacted but it’s just because they can’t read it. Being able to post natively and with some English is going to be game changer for their visibility!

I love and I mean LOVE when I can see both languages and I imagine other people do as well. Anytime I have the opportunity to do this with @tomos or @eiteengo, I do. It's literally a few extra seconds of my day but I know how much it means to the Japanese community. I will never stop 🤍

Both the Japanese community and I are very grateful for @pichi ＆ @burrrrrberry 's contribution. As @dwr.eth mentioned yesterday, non-English (including Japanese) activities are not eligible for PB. I think it's an overstatement to say that non-English activities are not "eligible" for PB. More like the chance you get a PB with Japanese is very low. I agree that we can fix this over time as more Japanese speakers get PBs!

Is my assumption correct that most English speakers probably just skip over these casts since they can read them, therefore the algo interprets them as non interesting? Should I be asking my friends to cast in English so more users can read it and have a better chance at interaction?

Yes, this is what I think is happening. Not enough engagement from known high quality users. We will have to iterate on the algo.

I think every Japanese caster I know with a power badge is going out of their way to cast in English, but there are probably 20 of them max and 40,000 Japanese casters so it’s not enough to help those only casting in Japanese.
