I have a couple that I haven’t unleashed on farcaster yet but the most obscure is definitely hybrid analog-digital photo processes, most notably: - drum scanning: high-end film digitization with photomultiplier tubes (vacuum tubes) and point source halogen illumination - lightjet printing: analog chromogenic prints (C-prints) made with digital files, LED or laser printers in a darkroom, and RA4 chemistry both of which I could talk your ear off, though would be so insanely niche that you’d probably tune me out.

Fascinating subject! My life pretty much revolves around hybrid analog / digital creation and I’m also fascinated by abandoned older technologies that are actually amazing

definitely share your interest there, big time. I was obsessed with this type of obsolescent tech in my previous career in photography (hybrid analog/digital processes) and now mostly get to explore that through my hi-fi hobby (amps, preamps, DACs, all that). interestingly enough, vacuum tubes were a constant between those two eras. what type of hybrid analog/digital stuff are you up to these days?
