99% sure on the answer to this but asking anyways: if i create an edition collection with qty 4,000, 10 unique pieces in the collection, all pieces adopt the qty of 4,000? = 40,000 total pieces

To be truly unique it has to be a 1 of 1. So Set the quantity at the tokenId level tokens 1 - 10 would have 1 (unique) and token 11 would be 3,990 etc. U can def do 10 tokenId’s of 4k each but those are not unique… they are a 1 of 4,000.

i would say if the collection is limited to 4000, limit each unique piece to an "x" amount, or consider permutation/combination and decide a variable for each unique piece, that in together should contribute to net 4k, not 40k
