Got inspired watching Physical: 100 and the “infinite squats” challenge, so yesterday’s leg day was a ton of squats. This was a quick set of 3 at 320 on the hack squat (had already done 30 to this point). In Physical: 100 they were doing sets of 30 at like 550 pounds. Got a long way to go!

That's actually a v-squat machine, a hack squat is on a single plane. We have one and I love using it, pretty natural movement and I torch my quads without stressing my lower back too much. I think women could get more benefit from this for their glutes with close and high feet than most else they're doing too.

Oops, you’re right! And I agree - I actually prefer it to barbell squats now because of sciatica/back pain And I don’t do any reps facing the pad but maybe I should start incorporating that because it’s a great way to emphasize glutes

I still start with front and back squats until I max out my back then move to the v squat to torch my quads. End the workout with slow leg extensions.

Mine doesn’t have added length to the pads, but I think it’s a way to mimic barbell good mornings? More hinge at the hips forward?
