Been crushing my workouts this week but the gym has been so full that I haven’t been able to take photos/videos for proof, wompwomp Hitting new PRs in all my lifts and I guess nutrition is where I really need to improve. Not seeing much muscle definition (still 5’7”, 140 pounds) and I know I don’t eat perfectly/track anything there (generally no breakfast, light lunch, big dinner) and I take no supplements/vitamins. Approaching 40 and I want to get shredded 😁😁 FWIW, I ran DI college track/played college football (sort of, I was a kicker) and then coached DI college track so I like to think I know what I’m doing on the lifting side. It’s the nutrition side that’s always eluded me. tl;dr - any supplements you’d recommend? Any nutrition hacks for bringing out more muscle definition?

Saturday chest day. Decline is still the easiest/only thing I can really discreetly film, so we get to watch this again. 185 was my PR ~5 weeks ago and now I’m repping it for sets. . . .Except right here where I was too far back on the bench and hit the hooks on the right side on my 4th rep and almost dropped it on myself. Fun times.

Pretty solid Tuesday chest day today. As usual, gym was super busy (had to modify my workout which led to PRs in both incline and decline press though) so this was the only exercise I managed to film. Last set of the day of triceps pressdowns.

Traveling right now - took a last minute flight home to surprise my dad for his 70th birthday - and my sister took me to Planet Fitness for the first time. Honestly, wasn’t too bad! Fairly busy so I committed a cardinal sin and did all my biceps stuff in the Smith machine area (no one was using them and no one said anything 🤷‍♂️) Quick video of seated hammer curls. Forcing myself to film means sometimes you get boring videos of things like lateral raises. Quick maintenance workout today; not trying to overextend myself this week: • Incline DB press (8x45, 8x55, 6x65) • Pec Deck (machine) (8x80, 8x90, 6x100) • Decline Press (8x135, 6x155, 4x185) • Cross Cable Triceps Extension (8x10, 8x15, 8x15) • Triceps Pressdown (straight bar) (8x45, 8x45, 6x50) • Shoulder Press (machine) (8x60, 8x80, 6x90) • Lateral Raise (8x7.5, 8x7.5, 8x10) With warmup sets for the chest and shoulder exercises and stretching/quick treadmill warmup.

Almost 8 years in the crypto space and this is the most I’ve ever received in an airdrop/reward/whatever you call it. Clearly been doing something wrong for years. Farcaster makes it all right. If I can make a few bucks a week posting my fitness videos and photos, y’all are gonna be seeing a lot more of me at the gym.

Truly don’t know how those of you that workout in the morning/before work do it. I’m always so drained and exhausted after a workout and I’m pretty sure anyone who says it energizes them is lying 😄 All I want to do after a workout is shower, get back into comfy clothes, and lay around the rest of the day

I was 88 km away from today's mystery location 📍. Can you beat me? First time playing this game. Looked really similar to a place I’ve traveled to to see a few concerts from one of my favorite artists. But I hedged and guessed the larger city further south; would’ve been closer if I guessed the concert city. Cool little game.

Another back/biceps day today. Didn’t get any photos/videos because the gym was too crowded, so screenshot of the workout has to suffice for Proof of Gym Mostly a recovery day - I generally do one more back exercise (low cable rows) and seated hammer curls but I wasn’t feeling it today. The “PR” was the reverse preacher curls and was a PR only because I generally don’t do them so it was the first time trying that weight 😜

Solid chest/triceps/shoulders workout to close out the week. Tried to film stuff I haven’t filmed before - simple triceps pressdown here; last exercise of the day. Never edited videos before and I absolutely suck at it. The black and white is 2x speed and should be cut out but this is the extent of my iMovie skills.

Another solid back/biceps day today but the gym was overcrowded AGAIN (went at 4:00 PM to break up the workday, back to work now!) and apparently the whole town was there. Had to change my routine a bit because none of what I needed (i.e. the two preacher curl stations, any lat pulldown machine, any bench whatsoever, etc.) were open. Couldn’t get any good videos for Proof of Gym, but here’s a screenshot from a shitty video of one-arm cable preacher curls. Substituted for normal preacher curls and it wasn’t too bad! Routine today was: 3x Low Cable Row (Cable) 3x Lower Back Extension (machine) 3x Isolateral Row 3x Bicep Curl (Cable) 4x Hammer Curls (Cable) 3x One Arm Preacher Curls 3x Seated Hammer Curl (dumbbell) 3x Reverse Curl (barbell)

Turns out Saturday at 1:00 PM is the least busiest time for my gym. Have literally gone at all hours of the day except mid-day Saturday and it’s always at like 99% capacity. So I got to do some exercises I never get to since I had an open bench and a lot of free space. And was able to film things. Got in a few sets of cable spider curls at the very end of an 80 minute back/biceps day. Love this for targeting the short head of the biceps but probably loaded it too heavy for how fatigued I was by this point 🤷‍♂️

gm fitcasters Continuing to post my weekly decline press because it’s the only exercise I’ve found a way to film discreetly. New PR. Added some 2.5 lbs weights so we’re up to 190 lbs now (at 140 BW) on the last set of a big push day.

I have yet to hear a truly *great* album that was released this year and we're almost four months in. That's probably not good. Shill me the best power/prog/folk metal you've heard this year. Maybe black metal too if it's really solid. Right now my AotY is from this completely unknown Italian symphonic metal band called The 7th Guild (8000 monthly listeners on Spotify) but even that album isn't thaaaat great. Apocalypse Orchestra, Majestica, and Avantasia are my next choices but they're all basically 6-7/10 albums at best.

Had a nice back/biceps workout last night while figuring out stealthy ways to film. Camera angle sucks here and you can’t even really see the weight unless you look real close, wompwomp. We’ll do better next time. I typically use a thumbless grip on these isolateral rows but I had to change it up for the last set. Need to work on my grip strength for sure because I was losing it by this point at the workout. 135x8 each side, BW: 139.7 lbs.

gm Fitcasters Starting to really like decline press. Doesn’t hurt your shoulders and you can load way more weight. I’m sure there’s a reason why no one at the gym uses it but I’m a fan 🤷‍♂️. Still trying to figure out how much I can handle so not sure how much to load yet. Really don’t want to drop this on myself 😁. 185 lbs @ 140.4 lbs BW. Think I had a few more in me here but this was for filming/gauging-the-weight purposes; felt a bit better controlled than earlier in the week.

Gym was totally empty today (it’s literally full 100% of the time every hour of the day) so I got to film and play around with some exercises I generally don’t do. Last quick set of decline press at the end of my chest day. 4x175 lbs. Current BW: 140.4 lbs.
