Anyone on FC play around with Passkeys yet? Have a few questions.

Slick UX but relying too much on them makes me nervous about apple being too much of a point of failure

It’s more the concern of relying on an apple device - with a FIDO hardware key I can at least buy a backup and store in a vault somewhere… I guess I could do that with a backup iPhone but…¯\_(ツ)_/¯

isn't it just a layer on webauthn though?

1password is working on supporting them, and you can use something like a yubikey instead of your phone to store the passkey (at least in theory, it's still early enough there aren't many implementations)
