Current most shippable stack: Next.js + Radix/Shadcn + Neon Very happy with this so far and is very close to the underlying. Leveraging each part what its good at and able to eject if I need too.

We stripped everything down and went absolute bare basics. No packages, no frameworks, no dependencies. Highly recommend.

Having done that in the past I find I appreciate the what the tools are actually doing for me and I am okay with the tradeoffs. Curious what made you go to bare metal?

We were starting to hit diminishing returns on flexibility. Tracking vendor changes was a little exhausting. We wanted to know root causes for problems. Barrel imports slowed down the monorepo. If you have good team work ethic it makes sense, otherwise tradeoffs do make sense.

yeah being solo for a lot of the stuff I am hacking on outside of work I often value speed and easy of integration to hack something into prod quickly. I have mentioned this elsewhere but its how I stood up @giftbot so quick, took me ~4-8 hours (depending on how you count the work) from soup to nuts on the initial release.
