idk, as a person new to the network, I feel like I'm encouraged to grow my network as fast as possible to get some sort of coveted badge. I don't feel like I'm being encouraged to curate my timeline carefully whatsoever

Yeah that’s fair. Maybe it stems from joining a platform that doesn’t have a lot of people I already know yet (because it’s still early), but joining after the rush where the early people all interact with each other. Just feels a bit on the lonely side at first
