Crazy idea, but now that Ethereum mainnet gas is 0.417 gwei ($0.02 per tx), why not move Farcaster contracts to the L1 so that they become part of the canonical state on all the L2s?

What’s the benefit of using another chain for identity data resolution when Ethereum could inevitably pull in those features, e.g. PoS, 7702, and other projects that were added in as an EIP?

Not opposed btw, but simplicity is key to adoption by downstream teams to Snapchain.

thanks for the tag: I think the right move is to adopt @ensdomains namechain which is being specifically designed to be fully ZK'd for easy cross L2 compatibility. Combined with ENS's CCIP functionality, it should make crosschain resolving of data fairly trivial. ZK makes the difference L2 and L1 very slim.
