passwords: universal, works anywhere, can be stored in multiple places passkeys: silo’d into a single service, can’t be transferred, sync is spotty ime

Passkeys will be exported/imported per new FIDO guidelines. What part of sync is spotty with them exactly? You mean backup to iCloud/Android?

that’s awesome, didn’t know that was changing there’s so many destinations. just personally i have to deal with iCloud, 1Password, and Chrome all trying to grab the passkey. sometimes you move from desktop to mobile and the passkey hasn’t transferred God knows what Windows users do. suppose MS has their own password thing
