I do it. It helps strengthen my knees when i am dealing with patellar pain, and works the tibialas something, muscle that wraps around the front of the shin. Iā€™m very gastroc and soleus developed and have been getting shin splints. This keeps it in check.

Give it a try, focus on pushing through extension and roll up on the heel toes up. It works your quads a bit too. I do 20 degrees at a speed of 1.5.
