substack’s pivot is a symptom to a real problem it’s tough to make money solely as a long-form writer, and finding “pmf” as a writer involves trying diff kinds of strategies even successful writers need to go on tours, sell courses etc therefore creator platforms need to provide more models of success 1/n

"it’s tough to make money solely as a long-form writer" That's the heart of it, right there. That's the problem web3 "creator economy" business models need to tackle, IMO. Make it easier for long-form writers to make a living without adding tons of additional labor to their already heavy workloads.

Example of a channel that needs a business model...? Yes! Haha. I'd like to think web3 can crack this problem, but if I'm honest I have doubts. Tipping isn't sustainable (it also adds more labor for people who are already overworked) and rewards programs are supplemental revenue at best. Especially if you're slowcore.
